Simulated Virtual Driver is an organization that was born out of the desire to make a difference in our community and the lives of the customers that we serve. SVD is the first center of its kind in Texas to utilize the latest simulation technology to create a product that assists drivers in developing the skills and techniques necessary to avoid collisions, develop good decision making skills and good life long driving habits.

Who Do we Serve…

• This technology can have the greatest impact on new drivers who are early in the learning curve and therefore most receptive to absorbing and integrating the instruction we provide to create exceptional life long driving habits.

• We also provide course work and assessments for the commercial driving community to assess and improve the skill sets of drivers operating company vehicles.

How Do The Courses Work…

The courses are a combination of instruction and practical driving application (on the simulator) with a pointed focus on collision avoidance. Approximately 50% of the course is devoted to teaching the basics of safe driving, covering rules of the road and detailed explanations of driving techniques. The other 50% of the course is dedicated to reinforcing the instruction by presenting the student with a variety of situations on the simulator that require their successful reaction. A written numerical evaluation is produced at the end of each of the 12 modules to identify infractions. Students must successfully complete each module with a score of 70 before progressing to the next module.

We believe that an overall program consisting of practical on the road experience in conjunction with our courses will provide the student with the best tools to prepare them for the harsh realities of driving on today’s aggressive and potentially dangerous roadways. Student drivers do and will make mistakes while driving, but we prefer they make those mistakes in the safety of our virtual environment.
